Well, NC voters believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. How refreshing. Even blacks voted 2-1 to maintain a traditional view of marriage. Blacks have traditionally held conservative views on social issues. They have allowed homosexuals to play the organ for the church but have stopped short of allowing homosexuals to marry.

In the next election blacks must fact an unemployment rate over 15%, abortion, and a perceived moral equivalency that says homosexuality is the same as being black. This brings us to the question: will blacks hold their noses and vote for a man who supports all three of the above positions?

Inquiring minds want to know!

To me this development is an indication that America as a country in the world might work again if it move in this direction much more.America is agreat country today because of the love and mercy that God has on America and its poeople because they chose God.The usual liberty that existed in for so long because of civilisation hsa cost the country a great deal so trying to restress their steps will help America remain great.GOD BLESS AMERICA.Iam a nigerian.

I'm not sure what Ken or other people are talking about but I've thought Sammy's has been a good place to go. We live in an apartment up Avent Ferry and it's our favorite place to eat at least on a budget. We always get a table (never have sat at the bar) and our waitresses have always been good. Maybe when they are real busy it's different but our food is always brought to the table pretty fast. If you want fine dining then maybe check out Angus Barn or something downtown but we enjoy Sammys as our neighborhood bar.

Consistently the worst service in Raleigh. Even knowing the service will be terrible I'm always surprised that they can surpass how bad the service was the previous visit. Love the patio but it's just not worth it.

Great idea. Maybe the rail line might provide competition with the airlines and they might not charge so much in the future for a USA-to-Vladivostok flight. Lots of deals to be done with Far East Russia, and American industry has not had a big presence there since before the Bolsheviks took over. Now the Russians act more capitalist than we do. Let's go.

The point to be noted, Karzai's soft policy worked. His brotherly calls to Pakistan and at the same time pointing out blame on them confused Pakistanis to understand their national interest. So the kept on aiding the terrorist, hiding Al Qaeda, and opening new training camps.Every thing exploded at their face all at once. and they lost every thing they thought they have gained over 30 years duplicity.
Today every nation on earth including China is blaming Pakistan for terrorism and the whole world is with Karzai.
Instead of Going rough with Pakistan, Karazi has to keeps its Brother policy open with Islamabad, but at the mean time he needs to crush hard of Corruption. If he managed to control corruption, he will be remembered as a hero or else he will go with a Zero.

The first museum exhibit my company produced was also the first time that your Acrocanthosaurus was presented in a museum. It was the life-size cast of "Fran", the original nick-name of the dinosaur. Dr. Dale Russell was invited to give a presentation during the exhibit at the Mesa Southwest Museum (now the Arizona Museum of Natural History.) I will never forget the sight of Dr. Russell when he first saw the dinosaur, literally leaping over the barrier of cycads that surrounded the Acro, his tape measure stretched between his hands, as he gushed about this remarkable specimen. It was only a short time later that he apparently convinced the folks at North Carolina that this was a specimen worth acquiring.

Totally agree with Kelly. We also need to consider cutting down the number of blended gasolines in this country as they also add to the cost. Fuel costs are a crisis and a threat to our quality of life.

Darrels point has been copied and pasted over the last 2 months or more from websites such as the Huffington Post, the NRDC, several enviro groups on the web that apparently will not be satisfied until we are living like our forefathers. But then again they would not be satisfied with a log cabin because that would cost us trees.

Socialism...brought to you by our green friends in the environmentalist movement.

As an Alumni that goes back to Norm Sloan's last teams, and attended the DC Touchdown Club celebration of the three DC players from the '83 Championship Team, including Thurl Bailey, Derek Whittenburg, and most importantly, Sidney Lowe (sat across from James Brown when he was a young weekend sports guy at WTOP (CBS) in DC at the time!), and having been a strong supporter of the Wolfpack in good times and bad (and having a no account brother who went to UNC, I have to say that I couldn't be more proud of our team, our coach, and our Athletic Director who hired him and took a lot of flack for it... All of you who criticized her choice of Mark Gottfried might want to apologize to Ms. Yow.

Lastly, I still have great respect for Sid as a player and as a great basketball mind, but I'm afraid that he was a much better coach on the floor in the early 80's than he was on the bench the last 5 years. That said, I wish him Monte Towe and all the other coaches the very best and thank them for their efforts on NCSU's behalf.

We did have a record day but the total number sold is for the whole Moore Square area as the pub was a collection point for the entire square. The rest of the pubs all had a record day within a 4 block radius of the parade ending route, God was good to us the weather was on our side and people hung out all day in the sun listening to the brilliant Irish music, singling along with every song, up dancing in the street, and shopping with all the vendors the parade brought to Moore sq.It was a magicial day and everyone was in top form, no messing, no fights, Made me extremly proud to be Irish. Please god we will have the same luck of the Irish from a repeat performance Saturday March 16th 2013.
I think that The raleigh St Pat's Committee deserves a round of appaulse for a job well done, a massive parade this year, very well executed. & Special thanks to all who came out and special Thanks to Wake & District Pipes & drums for giving us a 2nd parade that evening.

Kelly: "...even if they build lower part the key is Keystone.">>

No it isn't. Keystone oil isn't destined for the US. Observe:

"One of the most important facts that is missing in the national debate surrounding the proposed Keystone XL tar sands pipeline is this – Keystone XL will not bring any more oil into the United State for decades to come. Canada doesn’t have nearly enough oil to fill existing pipelines going to the United States. However, existing Canadian oil pipelines all go to the Midwest, where the only buyer for their crude is the United States. Keystone XL would divert Canadian oil from refineries in the Midwest to the Gulf Coast where it can be refined and exported. Many of these refineries are in Foriegn Trade Zones where oil may be exported to international buyers without paying U.S. taxes. And that is exactly what Valero, one of the largest potential buyers of Keystone XL's oil, has told its investors it will do. The idea that Keystone XL will improve U.S. oil supply is a documented scam being played on the American people by Big Oil and its friends in Washington DC."

Price of gas reaching over $4 per gallon, the President on a full blitz because he sees that could hurt his reelection but why is he talking about the lower part of the pipe line which he is giving his blessing on. Shouldn't someone tell him that it doesn't need his permission to built, and even if they build lower part the key is Keystone. I see a photo opportunity to show the Americans he is in favor of it, or is he? This is a smoke and mirror trick, to make the Voter think he is in favor of it because if he did he'll lose the Environmentalist vote.

We need Jobs - We need Oil flowing. We don't need Smoke and Mirrors. Mr. President do the right thing for the people and built the complete pipeline.

Prohibition is an absolute scourge - The end! The use of drugs is NOT the real problem, the system that grants exclusive distribution rights to violent cartels and terrorists IS.

If you support prohibition then you support bank-rolling criminals and terrorists. There's simply no other logical way of looking at it.

Everybody who supports prohibition needs to understand that there is a human cost associated with this dangerous and failed policy. - Every time they assert their support for it they are condemning thousands more to death.

Every-time the ghastly violence of prohibition is falsely blamed on the users, it diminishes the culpability of those who are truly responsible for maintaining the status quo. Prohibition is an absolute scourge -the end! The use of drugs is NOT the real problem, the system that grants exclusive distribution rights to violent cartels and terrorists IS.

When governments prohibit drugs they effectively and knowingly hand a monopoly on their sale to dangerous criminals and terrorists. Without a legal framework in which to operate, these black-market entities can always be expected to settle their disputes violently, while terrorizing many peaceful and innocent citizens in the process. Were the users of alcohol to blame for the St Valentines massacre in 1929? Of course not! It is just as naive to assume that one can compel all the users of Marijuana or Cocaine to simply quit, as it is to assume that all the users of Alcohol should have stopped drinking after the introduction of alcohol prohibition in 1919.

Nobody can be expected to obey bad laws, like ones that infringe on logic as well as the fundamental right to decide on what medicine or poison an individual adult may, or may not, ingest. The violence and the deaths ultimately arising from such bad public policy should always rest squarely on the shoulders of those ignorant imbeciles who are responsible for implementing and supporting such foolishness.

I agree with your thoughts on the inclusion of lesser known songs as a good move. A lot of people haven't heard of the great mixture of songs MJ had. Any genre of song MJ did - he did with perfection.

Some of my favorite MJ songs are the lesser known ones - Little Susie, Whatever Happens, Dirty Diana.

I wish Cirque included Little Susie though - the songs is very theatrical. Very powerful. It can deeply mean the loneliness and isolation that MJ had in almost of his entire life.

Long live the King.

Thank you, R. Greg, for a wonderful review of this phenomenal event. I saw it in Sacramento in January and can't wait to see it again at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas when it takes permanent residency after a record-breaking tour of Europe. If loved his music and caught just a glimpse of this man's immense talent and creativity, you will love this show. Cirque was one of his favorite entertainment venues and they have done him proud!

If he is taking note, I'm sure he is smiling with gratitude and appreciation.

I did not see the first trial, but i did watch the second trial. I was convinced without a doubt that he killed his wife. All he did is stage the scene. He got another pair of shoes to mislead the detectives. I previously got away from the same kind of man that tried to smother me to death in front of my son. I lived in a violent abusive marriage for four years. He also had cheated on me with five women that i know of. And one of the women had found my number and called me to find out. He never even told the other women he was married. I am fortunate to be alive today and thankful. This kind of man has a winning personality in the beginning. He is a pathological liar, and a sociapath. I am so glad Jason Young was convicted this time. He really got away easy. He should be beat to death in return. He is truly an animal and needs to be locked in a cage....

First mistake I'd like to correct, "Scary Story" as it was called is probably the "Is It Scary" and "Threatened" mix. Second, the fact they focused on the lesser-known songs is a pretty good move on their part in my opinion. For the people who haven't had the pleasure of hearing some of those songs, they get to experience the magic in them for the first time. Plus, the lesser known songs tend to be the ones that you find a little more catchy than songs you've heard a million times, like Thriller or Billie Jean. I'd say my favorite Michael Jackson songs, with the exception of Smooth Criminal and They Don't Care About Us, are all lesser-known, and would probably unknown to someone who doesn't know the entire Michael Jackson catalog. I have heard good things about this show though, and am excited for it to come to Baltimore in early May.

Years ago, when I worked for OMNI magazine, we ran an article that suggested "Birds Came First."
I also recall reading "The Hot-Blooded Dinosaurs" decades ago, when this argument that dinosaurs evolved into birds was still just an idea.
Despite much agreement among scientists now that birds are dinosaurs, I suspect more fossil evidence could change that entire paradigm overnight.
One researcher a while back noted, dinosaurs were not lizards nor birds nor warmed-blooded like mammals, they were something different - sharing warm and cold-blooded qualities, for instance.
I don't believe this scientific debate is conclusive yet.
As for creationism, what does a non-scientific religious point of view have to do with this at all? Creationism is where the laughs are.

Mr. Martin: In National Geographic's new film "Flying Monsters," David Attenborough does surmise that pterosaurs did NOT evolve from birds as dinos did but rather "from the ground up" and gives audiences an idea of what the world of the pterosaur was like, billions of years ago.
