DURHAM – A new beer event will be debuting in the Triangle in February of 2013. The Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), Sam’s Quik Shop, and Tyler’s Restaurant & Taproom are launching the inaugural Bull City Food & Beer Experience in downtown Durham with local food, beer tastings and three speakers from the beer industry.
The event will be held Sunday, February 24th, 2013 at the DPAC building in downtown Durham from 4pm to 8pm.
According to organizers, there will be 20 local restaurants pairing their food with North Carolina beers and there will also be samples of beer from breweries from around the world for guests to taste. Around 50 beers will be on hand during the event, says event staff.
The ticket prices have not been finalized yet but go on sale later this month according to organizers. The admission allows you unlimited sampling of both food and beer.
In addition to the beer, food, and live music, there will be three guest speakers from the beer industry speaking at the event.
Ken Grossman from Sierra Nevada, Kim Jordan from New Belgium and Dale Katechis from Oskar Blues will be speaking at the event.
This event will help raise money for the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association, which has attempted to restore Ellerbe Creek in Durham. Since 1999, the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association has acquired close to 340-acres including six nature preserves that are managed for public recreation, water quality and native plant and habitat purposes. ::
