Cary Police Say Man Stabbed Woman, Held People Hostage

CARY – According to the Cary Police Department, on Sunday an unidentified man stabbed a female domestic partner and held her hostage inside of an apartment located at 105 Ribbon Lane.  The apartment complex is located off of Lochmere Drive off of Cary Parkway in the southeast part of town.

“At approximately 5:44 a.m., police were notified that a female victim was being held inside the apartment by a male suspect,” said the Cary Police in a statement to the media.  “Two other people that had been held inside the apartment were released unharmed.”

The police did not identify the names of any of the victims or the suspect, saying that the case is “ongoing.”

According to police, both the suspect and the female victim were taken to the hospital with injuries. 

“The suspect, who had barricaded himself into the apartment, was taken into custody by Cary Police at 8:55 a.m,” said the police.  “He was transported to an area hospital with self-inflicted injuries.”

According to police, during the three hour standoff, the adjoining apartments were evacuated, say police.  ::
