RALEIGH – A couple of thousand people attended the Toast to the Triangle event recently held in Raleigh at the NC State University McKimmon Center. The annual event that benefits the Tammy Lynn Center, which helps children and adults with special needs.
The event held in March in Raleigh marked the 27th year for the event. Restaurants, vendors, and others donate their time, food, and expertise to the event, much to the delight of thousands of people each year. Participating businesses include the Angus Barn, Aviator Brewing, Mura, Solas, and dozens of others.
This year, attendees could enjoy everything from sushi to shrimp and grits to crab cakes to Southern barbecue and more. Of course, there are plenty of desserts as a whole section is dedicated to confections.
In addition, there were silent auctions and drawings for items from such companies as Bailey’s Jewelry in Raleigh.
This year’s emcee was Frank Daniels of WTVD ABC-11 who introduced the winners in each food category as voted on by the attendees.
